WHAT WE DO

The Alpha Theta chapter at the University of Iowa requires its active brothers to attend 1 professional event and 2 social events per semester.

Outreach:

• Participation in STEM Festivals around Iowa

• Elementary Science Night demonstrations, including experiments with dry ice and various household chemicals!

• Lotion Lab (collaboration with the Haes Lab) with TAG 5th graders from local elementary schools

Professional Events:

• Wine and Cheese, a night for brothers to mingle with chemistry department faculty and graduate students

• Resume review nights

• See above, as many 'outreach' events count toward professional hours

Social events:

• Relax and get to know your fellow brothers! Previous social events have included:

  • Ice skating

  • Rock climbing

  • Movie night // game night

  • Spring formal

  • Holiday Study Parties
